Leave Me To Die In The Comfort Of My Own Home
Hi nobody!!!
It might seem like it's been a quiet couple of months for Dananananaykroyd, but, in reality, our collective heads have been bursting with stuff (egg) and all manner of puff (gust) going on behind the scenes that it's been a bit of a crazy ride trying to get our brains to compute properly. Sort of like playing Paperboy on the Atari ST upside down through your fat auntie's spectacles. Or something.
We've got all sorts of crazy news to bring and we're hitting the road for eight more gigs (and counting...) that will take us up to the very early summer. But, first and foremost, our EP is finally coming out really, really soon, we can almost smell its turgid musk wafting into our brains like smell bees. Is everyone going to buy it?? Is everyone going to help us out by buying our puny record so that we can forge on and try and deliver something even more muscular next time?? Don't believe us? Just try it mister! I DARE YOU.
In anticipation of this fine little record, we're doing a promo 'British Knights' music video. It's all set to be hilarious, rocko, yet fantastically watchable. I'm dead pumped for this, you should be too.
Also, we've been writing tons of great new songs and getting so excited about them that we can't wait to play them to yooz. Seriously, amongst our best tunes yet. We're furiously trying to find enough time between the six of us to practice them. It hasn't happened yet, but everything in good time. We're planning on being around a very long time, so it's important we take our time, you know? Album will be coming this year whether you like it or not, mind...
BIFF! Come see us on tour with the highly amazing Johnny Foreigner next month (dates on the Myspace) and get really music!! GET REALLY MUSIC!!!
In conclusion then, go put on 'Everybody's Down' by No Age (one of the best bands on the planet right now) and fight your ceiling from your bed mattress and feel how excited we are about rocking out some more with you guys real soon. YEAH!!!

"It's All About...."
Now, I listen to a lot of 'twiddly' guitar music and a lot of bands that feature heavily in the old skew-whiff chordage, stop-starty, math-pop funtimes category that we all know and love. Bands like Piglet, Hot Club De Paris and Tiny Hawks, for example, do this very well. But I also come across so many bands that, although they do fall into this particularly small pigeonhole, are mind-crushingly dull and have no idea that what they are doing is very, very bad, sloppy and self-indulgent. In a nutshell, it's a pretty hard thing to pull off well - to be able to play intricate and exciting guitar music tightly and with the sort of confidence you only find through years of rocking the live circuit.
Which is exactly what these guys have and exactly why i'm so excited, having trawled through rubbish band after rubbish band to find them.

I literally cannot stop listening to Marvin's Revolt. I tried to put something else on and I really couldn't. You will probably listen to their Myspace and wonder what all the fuss was about and why i'm dribbling over these guys, but you really would be daft to be a fan of this type of music (important if you're going to "get it") and let these guys go without paying them the attention they deserve, as it did take me a few listens to get into what they were all about.
To be honest, Myspace doesn't do them justice as the recordings (I have their cd) are massive sounding and the production is really, really immense. Very roomy and natural. Myspace's compression certainly tries to kill that.
But it fails. They are awesome. Really, really awesome. Check them out. If only for the vocals of 'Multiple Fractures', which, to me, sound a little like an 80's pop song... perhaps by Spandau Ballet??? (?)

GREAT LITERARY MINDS
So we've got this blog and all. It could have been something. It could have been our mouthpiece, our foot in the door what goes into the room full of the guys that can write and things. We could have written the Great Glasweigan Novel.
Alas, no. We post pictures of ourselves monging off in England, and we post nu-metal videos. And maybe some stories about how completely un-rocking we are. So, on behalf of Danananakroycd (that's right, isn't it?), I apologise. We're sorry for neglecting you. We will try harder, and more frequently, to get into your internet bookmarks. Nudge nudge etc etc.
BUT as far as being in this band goes, we're making some new songs and all that! John and I are writing lyrics about atoms and stretching. Expect the new record to be called "Ultra Massive Hadron Collider". Also, we're looking at when we can go on tour so we can rock your world with our stretchy atoms!
We're all meeting up in about two hours for a drink, so if you hear a lot of glasses being smashed, you know we're out in force. Danaanaanackrude (that's right, isn't it?) doesn't afraid of anything.
Peace out, honey!

NHG
The NHG album is creeping ever closer to ultimate completion. Tentatively titled "Black Plaque", it's half of us making a rock music machine, so whatever, go listen to some of it and add us on Myspace or something so we have more bosso friends to dweeb at, castlehound!
Here it comes: http://www.myspace.com/nervoushg
Oh yeah, and the internet has been crushed today under the weight of a thousand bazillion April Fools' "jokes", which exist almost solely of men in suits redirecting your browser to the video for Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up". RickRolling hasn't been cool forever, bozos! Wise out!
